I'm installing an NGK wideband A/F meter into a 1993 del Sol.  The harness has large square connectors on both ends.  Is there a large enough hole between the engine compartment and the cockpit to run the harness through?  The connector is 1.0" x 1.25".  Should I use the hole where the factory harness connects to the ECU?  Thanks.

you can use any whole you want. as long as it is not pushing the wires against any metal it should be fine. idk much about sel sols. maybe someone else can let you know where they ran there sound system wires or something. gl

I think you may end up drilling a hole. Typically the hole that all the OEM wiring goes through is just big enough for those wires and nothing else.

Scott,
If you havent found 1 yet, there sould be a hole near the battery that passes through....
It is about 1 1/4 across... Cant remember the size of the plug but worse case I can de-pin, run the wires, and re-pin the plug.

It makes changing the sensor down the road a small process, but it will be clean and safe!

Good Luck and let me know!

Thanks everybody.  I'm gonna check it out this weekend.  I thought about the de-pin idea, but I don't have the pin extraction tool.  Hopefully I don't have to take a hole saw to the car.  Changing the O2 sensor won't be an issue, it has a short harness and connector that plugs into the long harness.  Not to sexy now with the harness running out the passenger window and under the hood, but I found out that the A/F is about right.  If it's too much of a bitch, I may not permanently install it, just use it for checkouts.  I already installed alligator clips on the power wires, and clipped on to the battery terminals.

Why will I need a "depining" tool down the road?
